Monday 2 September 2019 - Tours

We kicked off the day with a visit to the Château d’Amboise — perched above the town and full of charm, it was the perfect warm-up for what came next: Château de Chambord.

Now that place is something else. Massive, ornate, and full of architectural drama, Chambord is the kind of château that makes you feel like you’ve accidentally wandered into the set of a historical epic. We wandered through its grand halls and spiral staircases, dodging tour groups and trying to soak in the scale of it all.

Afterwards, we veered off the main road for a bit — in search of the perfect drone shot. We ended up further away than planned (classic), but the view still came out alright. Sometimes the best angles need a little extra effort... and a long walk through a paddock.

Back in Amboise, I took the drone for another spin across the park opposite our apartment — a bit more low-key, but fun all the same.

Speaking of the apartment... we’re calling it a “studio attic” but that might be generous. Even I could barely stretch out without bumping into something. Still, it’s got a certain charm — if you squint and don’t stand up too fast.
